About Molly
The road to becoming a licensed mental health counselor was not paved in gold, I can tell you that much! I’ll start from the middle.
I graduated with my Masters of Arts in clinical psychology from Michigan School of Psychology in 2o18. From there, I worked as a co-occurring counselor (treating both addiction and mental health) in an inpatient treatment facility in Seattle, WA.
In March of 2020 (coincidentally, fortuitously) I started providing telehealth psychotherapy for individuals and couples and have been going strong ever since.
Along the way I never stopped learning and growing. I’ve received additional training in various modalities, including DBT, CBT, narrative therapy, trauma-informed therapy, mindfulness, shadow work, somatic therapy and more. In 2024, I received level 3 training in the Gottman Method, the gold standard of evidence-based couples counseling modalities.
Before all of that, I received my Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Wayne State University in 2008. From there, I took a wild detour to the west, where I completed a Masters of Fine Arts in fiction writing from the University of Montana in 2011.
Besides formal training, I bring to the table a lifetime of adventures and lived experiences. The 2010’s were a bit of a blur, including but not limited to a lot of moving around the country (mostly Michigan, Montana, Washington, repeat) a few different dogs, barely getting by on freelance writing jobs, heartbreaks and meditation retreats.
I currently reside in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan and see clients remotely in Washington, where I started my practice and worked from 2018-2022. I live with my beagle-mix Rocky in an apartment full of books and discount Halloween decor.
All of my life experiences have led me to this profession, in this moment, with the unbelievable chance to get to know and help you. Put me in, coach!
